How to Cleanse Your Home and Remove Negative Energy for New Beginnings

How to Cleanse Your Home and Remove Negative Energy for New Beginnings

Positive energy = new beginnings and more space for joy

Reaching positive milestones in life and experiencing an abundance of good energy is something that most of us can’t get enough of. Whether it's succeeding at work, business wins or our children moving up in the world, positive milestones always feel truly wonderful!

Unfortunately, negative things also happen in life and these occurrences are inevitable. As much as we would love to live solely in the positive, navigating challenges and enduring hard times helps us grow and learn how strong and capable we actually are.

The negative and the positive will always be part of the flow in life, and when this happens, both of these energies transfer into our living spaces and affect how we feel day-to-day.

That’s why it's so important for us to prioritize cleansing rituals in the home and to make space for new, positive energy.

Let’s talk about how to cleanse your house using specific techniques and the benefits that can come from making cleansing a regular practice for bringing balance into your life and home.

In the ups and downs of life, there will often be very clear signs showing it’s time to cleanse your home and welcome in the new

You’re experiencing exhaustion for no valid reason

One of the easiest ways to know that it's time to cleanse your home is being more conscious and aware of how you are feeling.  When negative emotions - and therefore negative energy - builds up, it can lead to ongoing feelings of exhaustion and fatigue (even when you are getting enough sleep and looking after your health). Stress signals are also a sign that something can improve in your life.

There are cluttered spaces throughout your home that could be carrying negativity

Clutter not only feels heavy around us but it also looks heavy - which can lead to us feeling stuck and brought down by unwanted energy. When you take the time to declutter your environment and allow more light in, you will have an opportunity to really look at what needs to stay, and what needs to go.

As the well-known saying goes…clear space, clear mind!

You’re having ongoing conflict with people inside the home

From time to time, conflict happens and it's normal to disagree with the people you are sharing your life with. But when confrontations becomes too frequent, this could be the result of built up emotions of those living in the home, and be a sign of energy that needs to be cleared out.

Cleansing is a beautiful practice and the great news is that there are many unique ways to do it

Experiencing the effects of negative energy inside the home simply isn’t conducive to a joyful way of living. If you’ve been wanting to learn how to cleanse your house, you’re not alone and we are here to help. Whilst there are many ways to cleanse your home, our favorites are:

Using crystals

Certain crystals are amazing at absorbing negative energy and promoting feelings of groundedness and stability.

Black Obsidian

Known as the stone of clarity, Black Obsidian is great for clearing blockages and detoxing environments. It has also been known to clear any ancient traumas that have been lingering for long periods of time.

Citrine

Citrine is known for promoting optimism and for supporting the flow of creativity and new ideas. This is a great stone to leave in areas of the home where work, calls or meetings often commence.

Amethyst

Amethyst is a powerful force when it comes to protecting the home against unwanted energies and influences. It carries properties of purification and is the perfect stone to keep in the home when you’re in a period of clearing and cleansing.

These crystals are also a  great addition to creating a space for meditation at home and practicing mindfulness.

Burning sage

This is an ancient spiritual ritual and is commonly used to carry our cleansing rituals, mainly for soothing stress, anxiety and removing negative energy.

Before burning sage, it’s a good idea to set an intention for what you would like to achieve during the cleansing. Whether you’re wanting to open up the home to more positive opportunities or remove negative energies from past pets or tenants, claim your desires and let the sage work its magic.

What you’ll need to get started:

  • A sage bundle or candle
  • Matches or a lighter
  • A large bowl or container to hold the burning sage during the practice

Light mindful candles

Everyone loves the warmth and scent of a freshly lit candle. Not only are they wonderfully soothing and relaxing, but they have long been associated with cleansing rituals, depending on the ingredients and type of candle being burnt.

Some candles - like our Evening Aromatherapy Candle - have been designed to calm your senses and enhance your mood using essential oils such as Palo Santo, Jasmine and Cardamom. The combination of these unique ingredients creates a relaxing aromatherapy experience, allowing you to lean deeper into your cleansing practice and get as much out of it as possible.

Intention setting is also powerful when cleansing with candles. Take some time out before lighting your candle and setting up your space to feel into what you would like to achieve from the cleanse and how you would like to feel after your candle cleansing.

Whether it's peace, rejuvenation or feeling renewed, establish what feeling is missing and claim it before you begin.
